Hawa Mahal Bier-Traveller (3)Founded in 1727, Jaipur is known as the Pink City, well it’s Terra Cotta in reality. A City of two million plus, this is the Capital of Rajahstan. The Pink City is walled, the Gateways impress. Within the Old City lies the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, the House of Winds and Jantar Mantar, the Observatory. The market areas are to the south of the Old City, with regular shops on the main s streets, and back street shopping also. Jaipur is a planned city, laid out on a grid system. Outwith the Old City are the boulevards and gardens similar to New Delhi. Outwith the southern City Walls lies – The Albert Hall.
