Le Z Restaurant Bar Tapas – Boulevard du 20 Aout, Agadir 80000
Le Z is located at a junction 200m inland from the central beach area.
Four of our seven nights in Agadir ended up at Le Z. There was draught Bier, cocktails if required, and seating outside with TVs showing the football. The seating inside was a no-go area due to Moroccan smoking traditions. For us, outside was bearable for drinking but not for eating. A pity, we were assured by fellow customers that the food here is excellent. Complementary nibbles were aplenty.
Try the adjacent Le Jardin d’Eau for dining indoors with clean air.
I wondered if the Rangers match would be shown early Sunday afternoon, it was then realised that Le Z was closed from December 23 until 26. I had chosen Agadir to hopefully avoid such festive closures, being French owned, nay luck.
Casablanca (Société des Brasseri du Maroc) at 5.0% is a suitably cold, yellow and fizzy Lager. It did the job, and a half litre was affordable (60.00 dh / €6.00). The Bier menu was possibly a work of fiction. There was no sign of the other listed draught Bier, the bottles seen were Carmeliet and Leffe. Having accepted that any trip to Maroc is not a Bier trip, I kept to Casablanca.
Pina Colada was Marg’s chosen tipple, before she succumbed to Baileys.
The staff were excellent, Mein Host came to acknowledge us as we became regulars.
