SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium – Auckland

Unused underground sewage tanks, let’s build an aquarium – declared Kelly Tarlton.  Sea Life opened in 1985 on Auckland‘s waterfront, the World’s first with a tunnel through the living exhibits.

Penguins have their own climatically controlled area, though having interviewed the Emperor Penguins at Edinburgh Zoo, I’m pretty certain that they prefer temperate conditions.

 

Why, when there is such a fine display of living exhibits does the management believe that large screen animations are necessary? Is a cartoon better than reality?
