2004 was my second visit to Milano. In 1980 I spent a long day wandering around trying to find sights beyond the main square, Duomo and arcades. It was a long day. I was in no great hurry to return until Milan-Bergamo became a Ryanair destination from Glasgow. The T’internet revealed the existence of a micro-brewery, another day doing the sights could be tolerated. In the company of the Dear Lady, such things take on more meaning.
A return in 2026 after nine years, and better information had us reside in Navigli to the south of the city centre. Here, a much better atmosphere both during the day and especially in the evenings, along the canal bank and its environs.
