Fritz & Franz Bierhaus – Coral Gables, Miami FL

Fritz and Franz Bierhaus, there’s a name the Hector couldn’t resist. Located in Coral Gables, inland from the coast in Miami FL, the far superior Bay 13 Brewery was visited afore, on the following day we went back to be Bay 13.

Fritz and Franz Bierhaus, decked out in the Bayerische Bierhalle style, is large, spacious premises. It looks the part, Hofbräu (München) insignia everywhere, but not their Bier! However, for anyone who knows about Deutsche Bier, the stock here could be classed as of being comedic, second rate supermarket quality, ordered by someone who either does not know of Bamberg, Franconia, The München Big Six (bottled Bock excepted), or couldn’t actually source it.

A BRLO (Berlin) Deckel was the only hint of awareness of the German Craft Beer scene.

The draft list was ignored, nothing here of interest. Intent on staying for at least one, a bottle Gaffel Kölsch (Köln, Deutschland) was all I could consider having.

It did the job. Marg stuck to soft drinks

We did order fries just to fill a gap.

The waitress was excellent, and took Hector’s insults on the chin. After all, it wasn’t she who was in charge or stocking the beer hall. In an attempt at appeasement, she did bring a taster of something cold, yellow, and fizzy. I rest my case.
