Galbraith’s Alehouse was pointed out as a must-visit venue by an Auckland local, as he drove us to the nearby Brothers Brewery. Churly’s/Behemoth is also a few minutes walk away.
An eatery, offering standard pub fayre, with Korean, Mexican and Moroccan added for good measure.
Galbraith’s has the aura of a long established bar with a brewery inserted. Hand-pulls serve Traditional English Ales, whilst continental style Lager/Bier has evidently become a mainstay.
Moving into the age of New World Hops, one wonders how Hazy Davey can be a continuous brand given the hops are reportedly changed in every brew.
There was an intense Backgammon Club ongoing in a side room.
