Arriving at Portland International Airport (PDX) the MAX light rail system takes one to the city centre, be prepared to change from the Red to Green lines at Gateway if heading downtown. Compared to many, the airport is remarkably close to the city.
Visit TriMet Customer Support Center on Pioneer Courthouse Square for the best deal, especially if you qualify by age, as being an Honored Citizen (“Senior”).
The paper tickets used in the 2018 visit have been phased out. All is now tap on each time one boards, particularly on changing buses/light rail, within the two and a half hour validity of each ticket.
TriMet Customer Support confirmed that using a credit card may incur charges, Get yourself a – Hop-fast pass.
The MAX is part of the TriMet public transport system, tickets are valid on buses, including those which cross the Columbia River to Vancouver (Washington). Google Maps supply all the timings and routes necessary.
