There are twelve taps also featuring a couple of guests. The first brews are done on the premises. Once established, brews are done at the larger plant in Spandau.
Located in Prenzlauerberg in the north of Berlin, Bräugier, which opened on April 29, 2019, became an instant favourite venue. They had the range of Bier being sought and the personalities staffing the bar made for a perfect experience. In the summer of 2019 it was firstly Brian the founder, then Johannes the co-founder who gave the memorable nights.
Don’t be a stranger, sit at the bar, get involved. Brian, and often Colin, are here to make your visit memorable.
Food is not served, feel free to bring it in from surrounding cafes.
O’saft Is 6.2%
DDH NEIPA, milkshake haze but not the full milkshake flavour.
The root lactose (?) taste was there, dry and hoppy, a perfect Bier to kick things off.
Complex Matter 7.1%
NEIPA
Light in colour with a hint of – milkshake – the flavour was full on. With body and hops this was wonderful, no it was better than that, exactly what I was seeing in terms of flavour, body…
Azacca/Columbus 4.9%
Yellow, clear, not a lot happened here. At least it was dry tasting, not the – hops in face – hoped for.
Atomic Candy 7.2%
NEIPA
Full on milkshake haze
Tropical notes of pineapple and grapefruit.
Eldorado, Citra and Hallertau hops.
Exactly what one presently seeks.
Poor But Hoppy 5.7%
IPA
Amber with a chill haze,
No big hop hit.
This lacked the body and flavour.
Maybe the first half of the name is accurate?
DDH IPA
Yellow, hazy, short of Milkshake.
Hops evident, but full on flavour not appreciated after what came before.

NEIPA
Approaching the full milkshake haze.
This had the body – the taste – excellent.
NEIPA
Superb, with full on milkshake haze
Was put on especially for me, not scheduled until the following week.
*
Day On The Fly 6.6%
Yellow with a slight haze, this was cool and refreshing.
After Teutonic, it lacked the hops.
*
Schwarzbier
I was told there was no smoked malt by the brewer, yet it it was approaching Schlenkerla (Bamberg).
Favourite of the staff, a change from the above.
*
DDH NEIPA
Yellow, heading towards amber, hazy, this had the New England flavours but with a hint of the West Coast.
*
*
West Coast IPA
Yellow, towards amber
Sits well on the palate after the first few sips.
With a decent body, a comfort Bier.
*
Double NEIPA
A full on milkshake, nothing negative here, a perfect Bier,
All the smoothness one desires, truly outstanding.
Citra and Mosaic hops.
*
Märzen
Amber-ish.
Different, not quite Deutsch, not quite USA, one was enough.
*
*
*
HDHC DIPA
Not quite full milkshake haz.
In fact, not quite anything.
There was nothing here to excite, a sense of hops, no more.
*
*
Milk Stout
If this was 10.5%, it would be dynamic. Still, a more than decent Bier, with coffee but no chocolate flavours.
A session Bier.
*
*
Hazy IPA
Surprisingly good!
But why was I surprised?
Full on hoppiness.
(glass on the left, and yes, I had more)
NEIPA
Another full on full milkshake style NEIPA.
Dry tasting with a big hop hit, excellent.
Double dry hopped with:
Callista, El Dorado, Azacca.
*
NEIPA
Had on the same day, if Sexy Tiger was excellent, then this was outstanding.
pi/? – symbol does not always show here.
Same milkshake style.
Strata and El Dorado hops.
Despite having different hops, this felt like God-Damn Zilla’s little brother.
DIPA
Full on milkshake haze.
Hops: Citra, Amarillo, Mosaic.
A perfect combination, full bodied, great flavors, juicy, another stunner.
*
Helles
Yellow, clear, crisp.
A classic Helles.
Could easily be mistaken for a Bayerische Helles.
*
*
DDH HDNA NEIPA
Yellow, hazy, refreshing.
Not giving the anticipated hoppiness.
*
*
*
Hazy IPA
Full milkshake haze.
Big hop hit
A moment to adjust to aftertaste.
Totally in the style.
*
Hazy IPA
A full milkshake haze.
Comet, Idaho 7, El Dorado, Mosaic, Simcoe Cryo Hops.
A shockto the laate after Wrath of ?.
Thereafter, the plate settled, nothibg nasty here at all.
A complex flavour as shown by the range of Hops.
Hazy IPA
Fill milkshake haze.
Vista, Citra, Amarillo, Cashemere Hops.
The balance of Hops impressed immediately.
Almost a fine – session – Bier.

Brewed as a challenge with given hops
Hops: Vista, Mackenzie, Sultana

#Verboten 7.5%
Cold IPA
Yellow haze, good body, not fruity. There was a distinctive roundedness of hops on the palate. Strangely, as served in February 2022, it could have been served colder.
*
Affengeil 5.4% Vagabund (Berlin)
Weizen
Yellow with a comparatively light haze, the Bier tasted thin.
Some sense of bananas, but tasted closer to Weihenstephan than Kloster Andechs.

*
Sky Disc 6.8%
Hazy IPA with Phantasm
Grape based instead of hops
Still comes across as hoppy, but not as intense

Gletschertal 6.6%
Cold IPA
Yellow, clear.
I know there’s no possibility of Brett at this brewery, however, that was the aftertaste that came across.
