Café Mort Subite – Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 7, 1000 Brussel
Located to the far side of arcade off the Grand Place, A la Morte Subite is a classic Belgian Brasserie. First visited in the summer of 1997, one cannot help celebrate the difference the smoking ban made after the turn of the century. This is a thoroughly pleasant venue to enjoy a large glass of Kriek.
Here the Kriek is not as sour as a Lambic, to be quaffed. But please avoid – Sudden Death!
Morte Subite is open from 11.00 daily until midnight, but is closed on Sundays.
Hector admits that the Gouda is as much of an attraction. One can either have it naked, or smothered in celery salt. As the Seasoning is a fundamental part of the experience, this is the only time/place that Hector can be seen pouring Salt on his food since 1998.
