Moeder Lambic Original – Rue de Savoie 68, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Brussel
Located in the heights of St. Gilles, Moeder Lambic Original is certainly worth the trek. Alight from Metro 3 & 4 at Horta and walk up a couple of blocks, else continue to Albert and take in Dynamo – Bar de Soif and benefit from the downhill route. Alternatively, Tram 97 takes one to the end of the street.
Moeder Lambic Original opens daily at 16.00.
Having visited Moeder Lambic – Fontainas, in the center of Brussel, for many years, July 2023 saw the first of what could become regular visits to the mother shop. Another multi-tap bar, the selection here appears to be more eclectic than downtown.
Unfortunately, a neighbourhood power cut curtailed visit #1. Contactless was no more as a consequence.
The welcome glass of chilled water was much appreciated. Having enjoyed another opperchancity to enjoy the excellent La Meute (La Source Beer co., Brussel) a 6.5% Hazy IPA, outwith their outstanding brewery tap, I moved on to Happy Kiwi (1 Bières2Tarines, Belgien), a 6.4% NZIPA. Happy Kiwi had the full milkshake haze and was suitably hoppy. However, after the perfection that was La Meute, it did pale in comparison.
Some super-expensive bottles were on offer.
