Google Maps had the taproom closed on Sundays and Mondays, so it was a surprise to find Microbrasserie Imperiale open on both. Two different Bionda (Blond) Biers were tried, one at 5.0%, the other at 6.%. A Scotch Ale brewed with Jack Daniels (which is not a whisky) was also available. The IPA was missed by a week.

Bionda (5.0%)

There was a gold, chill haze.  The Bier was suitably – dry – with no major hop hit.

This was certainly quaffable, and almost affordable given the prices charged locally for domestic Bier.

This was Hector’s Bier of choice in Ajaccio.

Bionda (6.0%)

This was a darker Bier with definitely more haze.

The higher abv was noticeable, much more body.

This Bier not not have the same – Bight – as it’s weaker brother.

Columba Rosé   (4.5 – 5.0%)

Dark gold with a full haze, this was served as a fruit Bier, this was not too far from being a mild Kriek. Very drinkable, exceptionally refreshing.

Three large barrels and two small tables provided the minimal seating in the Bar. This proved to be quite sufficient in the summer, when the majority, smokers, prefer to sit in the enclosed seating area outside.
