Also known as – Lal Qila -, this Moghul Fort is built on the ancient defensive site of Badalgarh. This is the south bank of the Yamuna River, within sight of the Taj Mahal. Agra Fort was built and extended to its present form throughout the sixteenth century. Hamayun, Akbar and Shah Jihan all feature in the story of this Fort, the British captured it in 1803.
Within the Fortification lie Marble Palaces and Gardens, as with the finest of Indian Architectural Attractions, the turn each of corner reveals another marvel. The largest stone and allegedly portable – Bathtub – is a passing fancy.
