Olbia – Sardegna

Olbia – The Happy Town – dates back to 650 BCE.  A ferry port, with an airport and a train station, Olbia is very much the gateway to Sardegna from the northeast of the island.

Sights are few, Antiche Rovine Romane is but a few stones. Parco Fausto Noce separates the old town from the new.  In terms of Bier, there was nothing to report other than a first and last sample of the Birra the locals drink across Sardinia. The only thing in its favour, it isn’t Peroni. There is a Brewpub some kilometres outside the town.  On a two night visit, we restricted ourselves to walking.

Being Italia, the streets are quiet by day and buzzing at night.

Olbia has three Curry Houses, two essentially the same.  This was a welcome relief after the Curry Desert that was La Corse.

The restaurants and cafe visited:

Cafè della Piazza – Via Regina Elena, 72, 07026 Olbia SS

Pak Kebab  –  Via Acquedotto, 2b, 07026 Olbia SS, Italy

PAK Kashmir – Donner Kebab  –  Via Acquedotto, 8, 07026 Olbia OT
