Santa Teresa Gallura is located in the very north of Sardegna. From here is the shortest ferry crossing to Corisica at Bonifacio. Travelling by public transport in July 2019, there was no connecting bus to Olbia, the nearest settlement of size, for some three hours. Santa Teresa Gallura was closed in the afternoon, it was siesta time at all bars and restaurants. The kiosk at the bus station was the only respite, and here there was little shade.
Had we been a group of four, a taxi to Olbia could have been afforded at a stretch. Hiring a car could also have been a better option. The longer sea journey is therefore worth considering, unless like Hector, that is never desirable.
