BNO – Birreria di Nord Ovest – Piazza Tola, 07100 Sassari SS
For Hector, BNO definitely has the best range of Bier on offer in Sassari. If location is everything, then BNO have it made. Piazza Efisio e Pasqualae Tola, to give it its full name, is the hub of activity of an evening in Sassari. The bar is on the southwest corner of the square. With only a modest interior, customers sit al fresco in the corner of the Piazza at Keller-style benches and tables. This included Hector who prefers to actually be in the bar.
Such is the turnover, there was a different Bier on offer each night visited in July 2019. Birrificio Lambrate, Italia’s long established Craft Beer brewer, is well known to Hector having visited – The Source – in 2004 and 2017. It was not surprising to find their Bier on sale here.
Not a fan of Italian Pizza, Hector was totally impressed by the Calzone on offer here. This has to be tried. Meanwhile Marg had the Fish washed down by a glass of wine. This is where the photo of the trip was made – Mona Marg.
The staff soon grew to recognise us, indeed, on the last evening we met the main man on his night off at Cum Panis where the final photo was taken.
As I usually only make tasting notes the first time I encounter a Bier, the record of all consumed at BNO is incomplete.
