Gambrinus Pub – Viale Trieste, 6, 07100 Sassari SS
July 9th, 2019, we dropped by in the afternoon to check the place existed. The door was open, but we were quickly told they were closed. We would come back for dinner later.
Located to the north, i.e. the far side of the old town from Viale Italia where were stayed, this was the furthest of the Craft Beer houses visited in Sassari. With twelve taps, there was promise, the range could have been better. My second Bier was the American IPA (Birrificio Agricolo di Sardegna, Marduk Brewery) already reviewed at Abetone Music Bar.
Here for Bier & Food, we were shown through the bar area and downstairs to a larger dining area. The first to arrive the Bier order was taken. More couples arrived, nothing came. The wait for the Bier was ridiculous.
When Hector orders a Burger, it is because there is really nothing else on the menu. Marg ordering an Omelette in the evening echoes this. The Burger was fine, Marg was almost incensed that she received half a plate of lettuce as a – salad. Why is lettuce even grown?
Session IPA (Birrificio Isola, Sardegna, Italia) 4.2%
Amber and hazy, the taste of US hops came across. Nothing nasty here, drinkable, but not outstanding.
