Restaurant Al Fassia  –  Agadir

Restaurant Al Fassia  –  Administration, Hotel Bahia Av Des, Agadir 80000

Al Fassia is located inland to the north of Agadir, an Orange taxi might be worthy of consideration, fewer tourists are likely to be resident in this area.

Having completed the necessary searches, Restaurant Al Fassia stood out as offering traditional Moroccan fayre at fare prices.  We considered Al Fassia as a possible venue for our dinner on December 25, with that in mind, we set out to have lunch and appraise the menu.

The array of Tajine impressed, the prices too. The €25.00 Tasting Menu was a possibility.  For a festive day dinner, there was one key element missing from the menu.  Hector has experienced twenty consecutive dry dinners in adult life, not the end of the world.

On arriving early afternoon we were invited, nay instructed, to sit outside. Nobody was getting to eat inside at this time.  Undaunted, the Hector did manage to investigate the interior and found it to be attractive. Unfortunately, whether smoking is permitted indoors was never established, I suspect not.

Having previously established that – Samosas – are called Briouates in Arabic/Berber, the Hector was keen to sample these.

Three arrived, different from the usual Indo-Pak fayre, more bitter. The one which resembled a pancake roll had the best flavour.  The accompanying chilli paste did help matters

Marg’s soup was excellent. Blended, with further ingredients added, this had a genuine earthy flavour.

Despite access to the interior being restricted, the serving staff proved to be amenable.

That we dined at Le Jardin D’Eau instead on the festive day was down to Al Fassia being – cash only.
