Campanhã to the east of the city Centre is the railway station at which one alights if arriving in Porto on a long distance train. The Metro is the likeliest means of continuing one’s journey. São Bento railway station, in the heart of the city, deals with the suburban lines.
Hector has not gone all trainspotting, São Bento is a must visit due to the decor of the grand entrance hall. Tiled buildings are a feature of Porto’s architecture, here lies many fine examples. It’s also a welcoming shelter from the rain.
