Cerveteca Lisboa – Praça das Flores 63, 1200-192 Lisboa
There was no obvious way to reach Cerveteca Lisboa without a hike from one’s chosen tram/metro/bus stop, good luck and try to minimise the uphill walks. This was one of two venues in Lisbon encountered which only sold – Bier. Nothing else, great for some, but not for all. Thankfully the wine bar – Black Sheep – next door has a reciprocal arrangement. The staff in both venues – were up for it, good banter.
Once settled, we witnessed the popularity of this venue. With fourteen taps, the Bier range covers Portuguese Craft Beer breweries, the UK, USA and even Estonia.
The Firestone Walker – Mind Haze caught the eye as soon as I entered, this was my favourite Bier of last summer in Sassari, Sardegna.
Vila Rodrigues (8a Colina, Lisboa, Portugal) 8.0%
DBIPA – This most certainly had the body and was beautifully black and dry, but where was the promised flavour of oranges?
Mind Haze IPA (Firestone Walker Brewery, Paso Robles, California, USA) 6.2%
No photo was taken as I had this Bier logged already. This – almost Milkshake – impressed so much last year, tonight it was nothing like as good.
Pillerkakaar (Pühaste, Estonia) 6.5%
This clear, gold Bier proved to be a great Session IPA. The hops were not intense, yet this Bier had so much flavour.

DDH DIPA, this had the potential to be the next great discovery. A full on – Milkshake – with impressive body, it took a while to register on the palate despite being served surprisingly warm. In the end the lack of – lactose kick – was a disappointment. Maybe on another day.
