Anfiteatro Romano di Cagliari – Via Sant’Ignazio da Laconi, 09123 Cagliari
The Roman Amphitheatre of Cagliari is located west of the city centre, adjacent to Orto Botanico, the Botanic Gardens. Linea 10 – Bus stops outside.
The amphitheatre was built by the Romans in the second century C.E.. The seated area was carved from the limestone.
July 2019 turned out not to be the best time to visit. Access to the site was severely restricted, the path adjacent to the ticket office marked the limits for exploration. One could therefore see the amphitheatre, but not walk in to the subterranean structures which would then have been worth the entrance price.
