Füchschen came on the radar in the early noughties. Their Altbier (4.5%) impressed as did the stronger bottled Silber Füchschen (5.0%), a Hefeweizen, which provides a worthy alternative, and also comes by the half litre instead of the 0.25 glass which prevails in Düsseldorf.
There is also a bottled Weihnachtsbier at 5.2%.

Located in the north of the Altstadt, Füchschen became established as the starting point for downtown Bier, the proximity to Tonhalle/Ehrenhof U Bahn stop is advantageous.
Usually, a table can be secured in the main room, occasionally one has to squeeze into the taproom. Drinking at the tables outside is also an alternative.
Classic Deutsche Bierhalle cuisine is served. Beware of the Wurstsalat, a veritable mountain of food.
