Ourika Valley is located some 60km south of Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains.
Visited on a day excursion in July 2015, the final segment was physically demanding. The high altitude did not cause breathing problems when walking on gentle slopes, however, the occasional scramble took its toll. Be warned.
The scenic route permitted stop-offs to visit a Berber home and lunch actually sitting on the river bed.
There was an opperchancity to swim at the foot of the waterfall for those who enjoy cold spring water.
