Boston MA

Boston MA is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts , not to be confused with the original Boston, Lincolnshire. Founded in 1630, The Boston Tea Party (1773) and Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride (1775) give this city its historical perspective in the – New World .

Arriving in Boston

By air

Logan International Airport is located across the harbor from the city centre. International flights arrive at Terminal E. In 2024, this was the most welcoming arrival experienced to date in the USA . The MBTA’s Silver Line 1 (SL1) shuttle bus departs regularly from outside the terminal. Journeys to South Station in the Downtown area, are free.

By train

South Station is the arrival point for trains south of Boston. The shuttle bus from the airport arrives in the bowels of the station. This is part of the tunnel system in the inner city of Boston which has replaced a surface inner ring road.

North Station deals with destinations heading north, simples.

The Charlie Card/Ticket is advised if one requires public transport. This is available at train and metro stations, twenty-four hour tickets may suit. The Charlie Ticket is valid on the metro and buses.
