An independent brewery founded in 2012, Biscayne Bay Brewing is located in Downtown Miami FL. The exterior displays some character: the brewplant and taproom is housed on the third floor of the Old Post Office Building, there is a lift.
The island bar features TV screens showing the usual – American Sports – there was even a quiz being held on the day of our visit, no chance with sport(s) questions then. The Doris doing the quiz had just completed a solo musical set prior to this. Her show.
Friendly, helpful staff, a pity the Bier was too safe, in other words, no New England Hazy on offer.
College Bayside Metromover lies two blocks to the north-east, whilst Miami Central lies to the north-west, a longer walk.
IPA
Yellow, moderate haze.
Thin for abv, no great sense of hops, despite the array.
The dry flavours make this a mid USA Bier, neither West Coast or New England.
Hops: Centennial, Mosaic, Strata, Meridian, Simcoe.
DIPA
Amber, a chill haze.
Body matches ebv.
The malt was evident, thankfully not the quoted sweetness.
Hops: Chinook, Simcoe, Centennial.
With this designated as the primary venue for the evening, there was food. Marg had a concoction featuring rocket, whilst Hector stuck to tries and tested Buffalo Wings.
Worth a visit, as it is the only brewery on the Downtown area.
